  • Modeling: Scholars will refine and enhance Drawdown’s global models and downscale them for local decisions
  • Feasibility Analysis: Scholars will assess the feasibility of Drawdown solutions at the scale of a community (Penn State campuses) or state (Pennsylvania)

A complete list of Drawdown solutions topics is available at www.drawdown.org/solutions. For the application, students will be asked to rank their interest in the following sector topics:

To enhance the Drawdown Scholars’ experience, students will be grouped in an interdisciplinary cohort to promote an inclusive learning community. Sense of community will also be promoted through informal and formal social activities, and professional development sessions. Research Experiences for Undergraduates staff will regularly check in with participant progress and provide workshops for the scholars.

Students will have multiple opportunities to present their research, including an undergraduate research symposium on July 30 at the Nittany Lion Inn at University Park. Summer Drawdown Scholars’ projects will also be highlighted at the Drawdown International Scientific Conference on September 16 – 18 at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center in State College.
